José María Esteban Ibáñez (Pamplona, 1950) has a degree in Information Sciences from the University of Navarra, where he also started a degree in Law and began his professional career in the EFE Agency and the “Diario de Navarra” newspaper. He was chief editor at the “Diario Regional de Valladolid” where he was awarded the “Cronistas Municipales” National Prize, and later at “La Actualidad Española” magazine in Madrid. Esteban came first in the public examination for the place of editor at the Navarra branch of TVE (Spanish national television) and was named director of the News, and later of the Territorial Centre in Castilla y León. Also at TVE, he created and directed the programme “Campo y Mar” which specialised in agriculture and fishing in the European Community, for which he was awarded the National Prize “Alimentos de España”. From 1991 to 2003, he managed “La Rioja” newspaper, and from 2003 to 2010 he was the director of “La Verdad” newspaper, both with the Correo-Vocento Group. He was a national commentator for Punto Radio (2010-2013). After his early retirement and retirement, he went back to work, and is currently a consultant to Telefónica in Navarra and La Rioja, which he combines with his participation as a commentator for the programme “La Lupa” on TVR, the La Rioja television of Vocento.
